We are all the children of God!

Galatians 3:26 (NIV) - So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, Our faith in Jesus Christ confirms our identity as a child of God.

When I was called into Missions, I never expected to go to another country. I am the type of person who sees that our own country needs help, so why would I go to another country when I can do the same things in America?

Well, it took God to show me that I needed to stop looking at Americans, Asians, and other ethnic groups. God revealed to me that we are all His children, and that this World is His and we need to help all!! This was very profound for me, because even though I was not raised to be racist or judgmental of other groups, hearing other talk about how foreigners took jobs away from Americans, it then began to stick in my head. I began asking questions why would they not work in their own country? How did they even get to a little town in West Virginia? Many more questions ran through my head and I was not looking at people through the eyes of Christ.

As God spoke to me about going to Mexico, he quickly sent me to the many scriptures that say we are the children of God. He also sent to scripture about sharing Jesus to all nations (The Great Commission). I made a vow when I accepted Jesus to say, “Yes” to whatever he wants me to do! I also wanted to humble myself and learn from Him even if something I was taught might be wrong.

As I travel sharing about my Missions in Mexico, I have found that many congregation members have the same thought that I had before being called to Missions. I share with each person, who says to help our country before moving to another country, that we are not to look at people as different but we are all God’s children. There are people who are called to help our country, and I am a firm believer that if everyone who is called to go would go, then a lot more of this world would be taken care of by Jesus’s disciples. I know and have met many who have run from their calling, but God has not given up on them, so I pray that those running like Jonah will find their God-Given Path.
